Q & A with Jennifer from the MILF Podcast

When did you start podcasting?

June of 2018! I’m a baby podcaster, and loving it. I feel right at home.

Why did you start podcasting?

As a new Mom, 9 years ago, I was so alone. The only resources I had were three sleep books (everything was about the baby’s sleep schedule) and my “What to Expect” book, which didn’t prepare me at all.

I don’t think any book could have.

So, I joined a baby group and talking with other moms in the group not only saved my sanity, it gave me tools. The other moms knew stuff I didn’t. And sometimes I knew stuff they didn’t.

Furthermore, we were open and honest about how hard it was, and that made me feel better, like less of a failure. Because I thought somehow that it was supposed to be easy and fluid. Effortless.

What’s the name of your show and what is it about?

The name of my show is MILF Podcast. I interview Moms I’d Like to Follow about their lives pre-baby, post-baby, and everything in between. We cover a lot of ground: pregnancy, childbirth, sex (before and after), parenting, self-care, self-reflection, self-reclamation, etc.

What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.

I use a Zoom H5 Handy Recorder, Samson Microphones and Headphones. It’s a mobile set-up so that I can record either in my own studio or on location.

How have you promoted your podcast?

Mostly social media and word of mouth.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

How much FUN it is and that there’s nothing to be afraid of. And also how profoundly it can help others.
