Q & A with Meldon from The Comedy Chatter Podcast

When did you start podcasting?

My 1st episode was June 20th of this year, but it was a process I began to put in motion in January…

Why did you start podcasting?

Because I do stand up comedy, & after listening to a lot of other comedians say podcasting is a great way to connect with your audience(thus increasing the numbers of crowds at your shows), I gave it a go.

What’s your show about?

It’s a podcast that talks all things comedy, but not from a known or famous comedians standpoint, but from an up & coming comics point of view. The first segment I discuss the ups & downs of my aspiring comedy journey, while the second segment is me interviewing a nationally touring(more well known) comic.

What’s your podcasting set-up?

Recording is done with 3 things: a professional microphone(that I got as a gift), my iPhone(HD recorder app), and an audio cord that plugs my mic directly into my iPhone. Editing is done with Audacity(free download off the internet).

How have you promoted your podcast?

Mainly social media and email. Word of mouth as well.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

That everything with your podcast is important. No small detail is less important than the other.
