Q & A with Kelly from In Her Voice
When did you start podcasting?
I started my first show in 2013, and I just launched my new show, In Her Voice this past May!
Why did you start podcasting?
I’ve been listening to podcast for years, and I always thought to myself I would love to have my own show.
My main purpose in podcasting is to serve. I am passionate about helping women understand they have everything they need to live a joyful, fulfilling life inside of them right this very minute and it is their inner voice!
The other message I am passionate about sharing is you are worthy RIGHT NOW! Not if or when, but right now.
What’s your show about?
In Her Voice is a podcast about women finding and listening to their true voice and what that has opened up for them in their lives.
It is a place where women tell their stories and we can learn and be inspired by them to go out and find and listen to our own inner voice.
What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.
I use a Shure SM58 mic plugged into a Xenyx Mixer and then into my computer via USB.
I record and edit my solo shows with Audacity, and I just began using Cast for my interview shows and am loving it. And of course, Libsyn is my host and I use a Squarespace website.
How have you promoted your podcast?
I started The Worthy Collective months before my podcast launched and now it is a great place to have deeper conversations about the topics I cover on my show and also to discover what topics I should explore!
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
I’m in an interesting place because I just launched a new show 4 years after my first and man has everything changed! Before I was using an RSS feed through my wordpress website in conjunction with Blubrry even though I was hosting on Libsyn!
Elsie opened my eyes to the ease of just using the Libsyn feed and publishing right through there! So MUCH EASIER!! But the biggest lesson is to just start! Start with what you have. Go with your ideas, and learn along the way!
For those of you that are looking to find, recognize or tap into your inner voice, this is the podcast for you! Give it a go and subscribe!
