When did you start podcasting?
We started 2 Middle Aged Dudes and a Microphone in August of this year, 2016.
Why did you start podcasting?
We were having a conversation earlier this year when some friends said, “You guys should have a radio show.”
We didn’t think much about it at the time, but then, a couple weeks later, the exact same thing happened again! So we started talking about doing a podcast together, and the rest is history!
What’s your show about?
Our show is all about weird news. We find the weirdest news stories out there. If they seem too weird to be true, we research. We only feature TRUE weird stories.
What’s your podcasting set-up?
We use Samson mics, a Steinberg UR44 Audio Interface, Adobe Audition, Garageband (for the themes and jingles) and Libsyn hosting.
How do you promote your show?
Since we’re on a pretty tight budget, the only promoting we do is through social media. But it has been very effective.
We have a Facebook page and a Twitter account, and we post regularly on Reddit.
We are also part of the Ace Podcasting Network, and do a lot of cross-promo’s with the other podcasts on the network.
What do you wish you would have known before you started?
I wish we’d known to have a few episodes ‘in the can’ before we posted our first episode.
