Q & A with Angela from The Awakened Goddess Show
When did you start podcasting?
I started podcasting October 5th 2014 and started TVcasting February of this year.
Why did you start podcasting?
I started because my mother of all people shared one of John Lee Dumas’ episodes with me and I loved his enthusiasm and passion about podcasting, so I started looking into the platform and how it could help expand and market my business.
I was a love attraction coach at the time and got excited about the unlimited possibilities of podcasting.
Here though, I was faced with a challenge. Do I podcast about relationships, which I knew I’d eventually get bored with or do I podcast about a topic that’s always excited me and I could never get enough of?
The topic of metaphysics and the so called ‘woo-woo’ stuff. Well let’s just say the woo-woo won!
What’s your show about?
A few months later I started The Awakened Goddess Show Show: Practical Spirituality For Soulful Living, where each week, I interview today’s top metaphysical teachers, new thought leaders, and passionate change makers to create a powerful experience deep within your soul.
T.A.G.S has since premiered on cable television as a weekly series and is being broadcast in Portland, Oregon on CAN11 and 3 other cable channels in the greater Portland Metro area..
What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.
I record directly into my MacBook Air using Ecamm Recorder + Skype and when I record my in-person interviews I use FaceTime. For editing I use Final Cut Pro and Garage Band.
I am outgrowing my laptop in many more ways than one so I hope to upgrade to video cameras soon! I use a Sampson GoMic which I love because it’s super tiny, it’s easy to travel with and it sounds great!
How have you promoted your podcast?
I promote my show through Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, a little on Instagram and through local cable television.
I also hand out postcards and business cards when I’m out and about. It’s a lot of fun to connect with new listeners and viewers that way.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
What I wish I had known was to really understand what it takes to monetize my show.
It took me a year and a half to realize I was giving too much content away for free.
I’m just now starting to understand the balance and monetize through my Awakened Goddess Academy.
