Q & A with Matt from The Matt and Steve Show

When did you start podcasting?

I started podcasting and doing The Matt and Steve Show just a couple months ago. Our first show debuted on March 24th.

Why did you start podcasting?

I started podcasting almost out of necessity.

I needed a good creative outlet that I could use to broadcast my unique sense of humor.

I also love to entertain people and podcasts can reach a mass amount of people all over the world. I also wanted to get the word out on my co-host and I’s comedy bits to eventually get booked on other shows and reach the masses.

What’s your show about?

Our show is not really about one specific thing.

We are a variety show in podcast form. We have skits, me and my cohost banter in the beginning, we have interviews, and we’re open to audience suggestions on what we talk about and what we include in our show.

What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.

We just use Audacity to edit the show and record on a handheld recorder that gives us near perfect audio quality.

How have you promoted your podcast?

Mostly on social media. We also have begun handing out fliers at various different venues.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

I’m still learning new things, but the main thing I wish I knew was the fact that it is much harder to gain a large audience from the inception.
