Promoting Your Podcast Using Video: An Experiment

In the Rockin’ Libsyn Podcasts series one of the questions that we always ask how have you promoted your podcast?

Well, since we just launched our new podcast #TheFeed: The Official Libsyn Podcast, we are doing our best to reach out to in as many ways possible to see what works for getting the word out.

Part of the process of promotion is testing and experimentation, and thus we are doing it via video as well.

Instagram video for promoting your podcast!

Instagram recently made it possible to record 15 seconds worth of video and they’ve also implemented the ability to embed pictures and video so I decided to give it a go!

Doing a 15 second video and avoiding being silly is super hard, but below is my experiment promoting our latest episode

Using YouTube to promote your latest podcast episode

Since we are just getting started with our podcast, I thought another way to get the word out about #TheFeed and get more traction from search engines, would be to do it up via YouTube, and thus the Libsyn YouTube Channel was born!

My idea is simply to give a super short summary of what to expect in each podcast episodes plus to clarify some of the key things that would be awesome from our listeners aka how to leave feedback!
